CO2 laser stripping machines can strip the outer layer of non-metallic materials and the inner layer of insulation: the insulation layer of non-metallic materials has a high laser absorption coefficient for such wavelengths, while the absorption coefficient of metallic materials for such wavelengths is low, thus preventing damage to the metal layer.
YAG laser stripping machines can have a metal shielding layer: the absorption coefficient of the laser for metallic materials is high at certain wavelengths, while the absorption coefficient for non-metallic materials is very low, so it does not damage the internal insulation layer.
The combination of both has a complete stripping solution: the outer insulating rubber layer and the nylon insulating protective layer near the core are stripped by the CO2 laser stripping machine; the metal shielding layer is stripped using the YAG laser stripping machine.
