Device Introduction:
Plastic materials can be divided into two main categories: thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics. For thermoplastics, conventional plastic welding methods (vibration, ultrasonic, hot plate) can be used for connection, so theoretically, all thermoplastics can be laser welded.
Since the principle of laser transmission welding is used, the thermoplastic materials that need to be welded should meet certain transmittance requirements. Generally speaking, when the transmittance of the upper layer material to near-infrared laser is higher than 50%, and the transmittance of the lower layer heat-affected zone material is lower than 20%, laser plastic welding will achieve better results.
The use of absorbers is a very important process in plastic laser welding technology. When the transmittance of the lower layer heat-affected zone plastic material to infrared laser is too high and cannot absorb enough laser energy, it will affect the formation and strength of the weld seam. At this time, an absorber is needed to improve the absorption rate to achieve the desired welding effect. Absorbers can be added to the material synchronously during injection molding or flexibly sprayed or printed on the contact surface of the welded parts.
